Public beta · open to everyone

Speak your language. Be heard in theirs.

Langer is a messenger with a built-in interpreter. Chats and calls translate themselves as you talk, so families, couples and teams can finally speak freely — each in their own language.

On iPhone through Apple’s TestFlight app, on Android from Google Play.

Why Langer

Video calls connect people. They don’t help them understand each other.

Family

A grandfather in Lithuania wants to talk with his grandson in the United States. The grandfather speaks Russian and Lithuanian; the grandson grew up with English. Skype and FaceTime connect them — neither can make them understand each other.

Work

A software developer in Lithuania works with clients from Lithuania and Spain. Every message goes through copy-paste: into a translator, back into the messenger, and again for every reply.

Working today in the beta

One app for every conversation

Everything in this section already works in the beta. The screens are illustrations.

Working prototype

Chats that translate themselves

Write the way you always do. Your message arrives in their language, theirs arrives in yours, and the original stays one tap away, so nothing gets lost.

  • Each person picks their language once
  • The original is always there to check
  • Read receipts and online status
One conversation, two languages. Same messages — each person reads their own.
Working prototype

Calls with an interpreter on the line

Talk in your language. The other person hears you in theirs a few seconds later, and you both follow along in a live transcript.

  • Translations spoken in a natural voice
  • A live transcript with both the original and the translation
  • Mute and speaker, like any other call

ConceptNext: calls in your own voice.

Working prototype

A pocket interpreter, face to face

At the pharmacy, the landlord’s or the bus stop: say it in your language and Langer speaks the translation aloud — or simply show the screen.

  • Speak or type
  • Hear the translation read aloud
  • Swap languages with one tap

ConceptNext: hands-free, with earbuds.

How it works

As easy as any messenger

  1. 1

    Pick your language

Tell Langer which language you speak. That is the only setting you need.

  2. 2

    Chat or call as usual

Add your contacts and talk the way you always do — no copy-pasting into a translator.

  3. 3

    Everyone gets their own language

Langer translates both ways in real time and keeps the original, so you can always check.

Under the hood

We combine leading speech and language models behind one real-time layer, so we can switch providers as the technology improves.

  1. Speech recognition
  2. Context-aware AI translation
  3. Natural voice

Concepts — not built yet

Where Langer is going

A glimpse of what we are designing next. These screens show the direction, not features you can use today.

Concept

Video calls with live captions — in your own voice

Captions appear while you speak. If you opt in, the other person hears the translation in a voice that sounds like yours.

Concept

Voice messages, translated

Record in your language. They listen in theirs, with a transcript of both.

Concept

Understand any letter

Point the camera at an official letter and get it explained in your language: what it says, what to do and by when.

Concept

Group chats with an AI assistant

A client writes in Lithuanian, the developers read in Ukrainian and Russian, the manager in English — and an assistant turns requests into tasks. The same works for a family chat across three countries.

You’re reading as Sam — in English.

Concept

Tone and culture hints

Formal or friendly? An idiom? Langer points out the nuance and helps you answer in the right tone.

Concept

Learn as you chat

Save phrases from your own conversations and pick up the language along the way.

Concept

Hands-free interpreter

Put in your earbuds and hear the other person in your language while they talk.

Languages

74 languages, ten main ones

English, French, German, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian are our main languages, and 64 more are translated too, from Arabic and Chinese to Turkish and Vietnamese — each into every other. Which language should we add next? Tell us when you sign up.

Who it’s for

For people who live between languages

  • Families across borders

Grandparents at home, grandchildren abroad, in-laws who never shared a language: talk directly, without someone translating for everyone.

  • Newcomers

Landlords, schools, doctors and neighbours: handle everyday life in a new country with confidence.

  • Teams and freelancers

Work with clients and colleagues abroad without copy-pasting every message into a translator.

  • Expats and students

Settle in faster and make friends beyond the English-speaking bubble.

  • Travellers

Ask, order and chat with locals in your own words.

  • Concept

    Organisations — later

Clinics, schools, municipalities and support desks, talking with anyone who comes to them.

For investors

Help us take down the language barrier

We are opening an angel round for business angels who want to take Langer from a working prototype to a public launch.

01

The problem

Millions of people in Europe live, love and work across a language barrier: families split between countries, newcomers, cross-border teams. Video calls connect them but don’t translate; translator apps handle phrases, not conversations. So people copy-paste, wait for someone to translate, or stay silent.

02

Why now

Speech recognition, AI translation and natural-sounding voices have crossed the quality line for everyday conversation, and their cost keeps falling. What used to be a research demo can now live inside a messenger.

03

What exists

A working prototype with translated chats, translated voice calls and a voice translator in 74 languages, on a real-time backend that can switch AI providers. A web app is in development.

04

Vision

A messenger where language simply stops mattering — first for families and newcomers in the Baltics, then across Europe and for the organisations that serve them.

Business model

Hypotheses we will test in the beta
  • Freemium: a free plan with a weekly limit, paid plans, and credits for more
  • A family plan for mixed-language households
  • Seats and an API for clinics, schools, municipalities and support desks

The round

An angel round, open now. It funds the public launch on iPhone, Android and the web, voice quality, more languages and the first pilots with organisations.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How do I join the beta?

It’s open to everyone: install Langer on your iPhone through TestFlight or on your Android phone from Google Play, with the links at the top of this page.

Which languages are supported?

Our main languages are English, French, German, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian, and 64 more are translated too, from Arabic and Chinese to Turkish and Vietnamese: 74 in all, each into every other. We will add more based on demand — tell us which ones you need when you sign up.

How good is the translation?

Modern AI translation is very good for everyday conversation, but it is not perfect. That is why Langer always keeps the original one tap away. For legal or medical decisions, please use a certified interpreter.

How is Langer different from a translator app?

Translator apps are great for one-off phrases. Langer is where the conversation itself happens: your contacts, chats and calls, translated both ways automatically, with the original always there. No more copy-pasting between a translator and your messenger.

Which devices does it work on?

iPhone and Android, and in your browser.

Does it cost anything?

You can use Langer for free, within a weekly limit — about 20 minutes of calls a week, and plenty for everyday chats. Paid monthly plans raise the limit, and credits, bought separately, keep you going when you reach it. A call uses the limit of whoever makes it: calls you receive are free.

What happens to my data?

This website uses no cookies and no trackers. Your sign-up is used only to contact you about Langer, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. The apps have no ads, analytics or tracking, and we never sell your data. Our Privacy notice explains what they keep and for how long.

Who is behind Langer?

Langer AI is developed in Lithuania by MB „Įdarbintas intelektas“.
